Tiger's Tale Is Also About Us

Summary


In light of professor Ed Weathers' assertion that Tiger Woods' personal life is "none of our business" and that we should instead focus on "our own house" ("Tiger's life off course is his own," Dec. 15 commentary), I shudder to think what kind of world we would live in if everyone heeded Weathers' advice. If we cannot or will not see the harm done by Tiger's infidelity, then we are morally blind and part of the problem.

Having met Tiger on several professional occasions where Woods was friendly and good-natured, Weathers writes with a mantra that he repeats six times: It's none of our business and we should look to our homes. Weathers is wrong six times and right six times. Tiger's treatment of others is our business and we should evaluate our own behavior.
