On the evening of Sunday, September 25, 2011, the "Soul" of Frances Mae Woods Coleman, formerly of Roanoke, took flight on angels wings to Heaven. She was born in Roanoke, Va., on April 11, 1923, to the late Armita Beatrice and Kenton Woods. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Adams Coleman Sr.; sisters, Gladys Woods, Iris Saunders and Hortense Woods; brother, Kenton Woods Jr.
Frances was educated in the Roanoke City School System. She was a proud graduate of Lucy Addison High School. She matriculated at Bluefield State College and retired from the Roanoke City School System. Frances was a beloved member of Jerusalem Baptist Church.See the full content of this document
