A 9-4 record in his fourth season as North Carolina State's football coach gave Tom O'Brien a spike in credibility when he could not have needed it more.

It was O'Brien's decision this past spring to move forward without ACC total offense leader Russell Wilson, also a professional baseball player, who will play football for Wisconsin this year as a graduate student.
