Measurement Less Than Adequate

Summary


Failure to make adequate yearly progress under No Child Left Behind can unfairly taint even successful schools. The federal law is failing to provide an informative report card to measure schools and their division's success in educating students. It is much overdue for revision.

Look no further than last week's release of AYP by the Virginia Department of Education to understand the fallacies of NCLB.
