May Home Sales Climb From April, Still Down Over 2008

Summary


Home sales in the Roanoke Valley were down last month compared with the same period a year ago, while foreclosures in the region climbed.

In May, 321 houses sold, down 27 percent from 440 homes in May 2008, according to the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors. The association tracks sales activity in Roanoke, Salem and Vinton, Roanoke, Botetourt and Craig counties and portions of Bedford and Franklin counties.
