Lynchburg College wants to connect students with the surrounding community through outdoor recreation excursions. Paul Stern, director of the college's Outdoor Leadership Program, said his department offers a variety of not-for-credit courses that are open to the public each year.
Courses include rock climbing, caving, horseback riding, kayaking, scuba diving and hiking. The newest course, Learn to Sail, includes hands-on training at Smith Mountain Lake, courtesy of the Virginia Inland Sailing Association.See the full content of this document
