Playing Chess at Greenfield Elementary Also Leads to 'Go'

Summary


At Greenfield Elementary School the Chess Club meets every other week after school for an hour. "Usually 25 students show up," said sponsor Carolyn McLucas, a teacher at the school. "The club has been meeting since 2006 and is open to students in grades 2nd through 5th" she said. Two LBHS students, Macey Tyree and Alan McLucas, who like to play chess turned up to help with the club as well. Tyree said, "I started playing at RMMS and I really have fun helping the students learn how to play."

Truly the students were very engaged in chess but over in the corner something else is going on! "Go." Do not stop at Go -- keep reading!
