Summary
One of the underappreciated requirements of Virginia open government law is that public bodies must notify citizens about upcoming meetings. Citizens deserve fair warning before elected officials act.
Some officials believe notification has become burdensome. They want lawmakers to change the law so they can pursue cheaper but less effective ways to announce their meetings.
